The Heritage Committee is working to explore, uncover and transcribe early records that exist from St. John's past. We hope to be able to share as much of this data in time and present it here in an easy to access format.
We are always seeking new information, photos, stories, records, and anything related to St. John's history in Arichat. Please reach out to us if you would like to contribute to our recorded history!
St. John's history begins with a call for the establishment of the parish, and a need to have a minister who could preach in both English and French. More to come!
Check out what we've compiled on all things St. John's in collaboration with former parishioners, local historians and community members. We appreciate all the hard work and effort it takes to properly record our history and thanks everybody involved! More to come!
Remember to check out our Gallery where we have all kinds of historic photos of St. John's in Arichat. Photo above courtesy of Isle Madame Historical Sociery.
As time passes and access to new information becomes available, our Heritage Committee is able to piece together more and more about St. John's unique history. Check back here for updates as they become available.
